11/180 Summermore Cottages
Tenement farmhouse, now divided into 2 occupations. C16 and C17 in part, partly
rebuilt and extended in late C18 or early C19. Rendered stone and cob. Thatch
roof with gable ends. Lateral stack with brick shaft to rear and brick stack at
gable end of earlier range. L-shaped on plan, the earlier range forming a rear
wing to the symmetrical 2-room cottage. 2 storeys. 3-window range. Thatched
porch. Earlier C18/C19 fenestration survives to the rear wing. To its front are
two 2-light casements, 2-panes per light above 2 plank doors with a 2-light
casement, 8 panes per light and a partially boarded-over 3-light casement with
small leaded panes to right. Buttress at left end. Small lean-to with corrugated
asbestos roof at left end. To rear is a 2-light casement, 8-panes per light to
left, a 2-light casement to right side over a 2-light casement, 8 panes per light.
