Description

BRADNINCH FORE STREET (east side),
SS 90 NE
Bradninch
12/19 No. 17
-
GV II
House forming part of a long row. Circa 1832-5. Cob, stone plinth, plastered,
under synthetic slate gabled-end roof. End stacks, the right-hand one set back
behind roof ridge. 3 storeys.
Front: 2 window range; overhanging eaves and gutter box; strip quoins and raised
surrounds to windows. The front was probably designed to be symmetrical, but the
right-hand ground-floor window (C20 casement, 2 lights) replaces a former shop
window and is larger than its counterpart. Otherwise all windows with unhorned
sashes, 8 panes per sash to ground and 1st floor; 2nd floor windows with 4 panes to
tipper sashes, 8 to lower. Central porch with pediment and architrave, with
panelled door. Gable ends with fascia.
