SW 73 NE ST GLUVIAS TRELUSWELL

Lower Treluswell Farmhouse

Barn and adjoining outbuilding. Circa early-mid C19. Granite rubble with granite
and elvan dressings. Grouted scantle slate hipped roof.
Plan: Overall L-shaped plan. Long barn built in at least 2 phases. Probably
original barn towards the right granaries and fodder lofts over stables, shippons and
waggon houses. Later single-storey range built at right angles in front on the right
with waggon shed at the front. Horse-engine house behind towards the right-hand
side.
Exterior: 2 storeys (barn). Long unaltered front with alternate window and doorways
on the ground floor including 2 wide waggon doorways (middle and towards right).
Right-hand waggon doorway has a segmental granite arch with a projecting keystone,
the other waggon doorway has a segmental brick arch. First floor loading doorways
over the waggon doorways and over doorway towards the left; windows over the other 2
doorways. Corbelled hood with hipped roof over right-hand loading doorway. Left-
hand front of barn has pigeon holes under the eaves. Many old ledged doors and many
old windows, some with wooden shutters.
