C16/C17 or possible earlier origin, extended in C17 and early to mid C19. 2
storeys roughcast brick with 2 cross wings, that to west C18 addition. Renewed
wood casements and 3 gabled dormers between cross wings with gable. Tiled roof.
Internally various parts of timber framed exposed. The central part appears to
be earlier and may have had open hall and through passage: wall posts and rough
hewn beams. Large open fireplaces back to back. On 1st floor one windbrace
survives and purlins, also part of original west gable end with collars and
studding. The eastern part may be slightly later but also retain former south
timber framed exterior wall and some wattle and daub infill. Bread oven and salt
cupboard survive. The staircase and entrance have been removed. Late C19 south
wing to eastern part.
