1869. Large and dignified Gothic mansion in splendid position, in fine
grounds on hill overlooking the Lake. Gables, octagonal chimneys, 2 storeys,
local slate, with stone-mullioned windows with pointed or Tudor-arched
lights, some cusped, some bay windows. Tudor-arched entrance in gabled
porch, with ogee niche containing the date. Long, low proportions.
