House. Late C16/early C17, brick front early C18, E bay heightened to 2
storeys in brick and W bay and parallel rear range added in 1980s.
Timber frame, cased with red brick and blue headers, red brick C20 work,
steep old red tile roofs. Of 3-units, lobby-entry plan originally with
large internal chimney at lower end of middle bay and cellar under W
bay. 2-storeys facing S. 5 windows to 1st floor, 3-light casements each
with a small gable over. 3 ground floor windows to E of porch. 4-light
casement windows with segmental arches. The middle 2-bays of the S front
have C18 brickwork. Gabled C20 porch at W. Interior has jowled posts,
heavy timber rails in walls, cross-beams, cambered tie-beams. Former
rear stair tower replaced by rear range. 2 storeys block to SW not of
special interest.
