Public house. C17 with extensive alterations and additions. Part timber-framed with brick infill, part brick, tiled roof. 'H-shape' plan, central two bay range with two bay intersecting cross-wings, the lower wing of probable later date; c1900 extensions. Two storeys; late C18 brick refacing with dentilled eaves cornice; one:two:one bays; windows are large C20 cross casements except for ground floor of left cross-wing which is a C19 sash with glazing bars. Large brick stack to left of central range with four octagonal shafts and oversailing cap courses. Central c1900 flat roofed extension to ground floor of central range with Tudor-arched central doorway and angled bay window.

Interior is extensively altered and refitted.

A late C19 building with extensions to rear adjoins north-west rear gable end.
