School, mid-C19 (church 1837). Ashlar, slate roof with stone gable
copings. T-shaped plan. Single storey. Early English style:
lancet windows which have hoodmoulds with figured stops. Symmetrical
6-bay buttressed facade to Christ Church has in the centre a buttressed
and gabled double porch with 2 shafted arched doorways, and in the other
2 bays on each side tall coupled windows (all now blocked). East gable
wall has 2 similar windows (partly blocked), between these a tall lancet
recess containing 2 shafted niches with open traceried heads, a straight
hollow-moulded dripcourse containing ball flower ornament above all
these openings, and in the apex a trefoil with a hoodmould. Rear:
lower single storey wing, altered.
