with Staplegrove Road
GV II
Electricity service box. Late C19-early C20. Made by Hardy and Padmore Ltd,
Worcester for Taunton Corporation Electricity Department. Cast iron. Rectangular
on plan, the long sides having panel-decorated hinged doors, the short sides having
circular plates with makers name surrounded by interlaced decoration. Roll-moulded
edge to pyramidal cap with urn-type finial. A rare survival of an early service
box. It was installed between 1894 and 1916.
