GV II

Hall-house, now house. Early C16, clad in C18 and altered circa 1910,
possibly by Mervyn Macartney. Timber framed and clad in exposed timber
framing on ground floor to west with red and blue brick ground floor to sides.
Tile-hung first floor. Low pitched twin span roofs, with stacks with
projecting breasts to left and right. Wing at left towards rear. 2 storeys.
Regular 2 bay front, with 2 projecting 2 storey bays. Glazing bar casements
with lattice glazing in top lights. Central recessed entrance with boarded
door behind and flat hood on brackets over. Similar hood over glazed door
on right return front. Interior: substantial timber frame. Roof rebuilt.
Heavy jowled posts. Stair of circa 1710, probably brought in. Inserted
stack. Various Macartney fireplaces in Neo-Georgian style.
