Wine and Coal tax post. Circa 1861 by Henry Grissell. Metal, circa 5foot high
Four legged plinth with chamfered pier above; moulded capital band and pyramidal
top. City of London shield on the front. Lettering on the pier reads
"24 & 25 VICT/CAP 42". Makers name on the back. A Coal and Wine tax post
indicating the boundary at which duty was payable; that on Coal dating back to
the l66O's.
