19 gas standards, north of the Royal Pavilion (qv), approx 30
metres south of the east jamb of the North Gate, Church Street
(qv). c1835, adapted to electricity in the late C19 or early
C20. Cast-iron. Reeded base, square at bottom, chamfering to
octagon; cast into 2 opposite sides of the base is William
IV's insignia: a crown, below "IV" and the initials "WR".
Octagonal, tapering shaft with octagonal basket capital;
original cage and ventilator intact; single maintenance arm;
below reflector a circular clock box inscribed with the
letters, BLEECO.
