Pair of houses. Dated 1867. Possibly by Sir George Gilbert
Scott. For Sir John Mordaunt. Brick with blue brick banding
and date; hipped tile roof with large brick cross-axial stack.
2-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; symmetrical 2-window range. Courses of
blue brick at sill and eaves levels; top cogged brick cornice
and 2 gables with bracketed barge-boards with arched braces to
collars with king posts. Entrance to each end has cambered
head with blue brick over plank door with strap hinges;
bracketed gabled door canopies have barge-boards as to gable.
Ground floor has windows with sills, and cambered heads with
blue brick over 3-light transomed casements; similar windows
to first floor have cross-casements. Returns have similar
windows.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Part of a group of estate cottages and other buildings.
