House, later 3, now 2 houses. 1670s with C19/C20 additions and
alterations. Brick with some timber-framing with brick infill,
and plastered timber-frame; gabled thatch roof with truncated
end external stack, and ridge stack at junction of the
properties. 3-unit plan.
EXTERIOR: single storey with attic; 3-window range. Centre
retains some timber-framing; left end has brick refacing;
right end is plastered. 2 entrances to left of centre (No.15)
have doorcases with pilasters and entablatures, that to left
with fluted pilasters and 6-fielded-panel door (2 panels
glazed), that to right has 4-flush-panel door; entrance to
right of centre (No.13) has C20 door and canopy.
C19 canted bay windows flank entrances to left, with hipped
tile roofs, one with sashes, one with casements; C20 bow
window to right end with narrow light to right, both with
small-paned glazing. 2 raking dormers have 2-light small-paned
casements, further dormer to right end has 3-light small-paned
casement. Right return has canted brick addition under hipped
tile roof; C20 windows. Gabled rear wings.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORY: some small-scale coarse hosiery weaving is believed
to have taken place here in first half of C19; No.13 was at
one time a shop.
