TUGFORD

SO58NE Stables to east of Tugford Mill

GV II

Stables, now byre. Late C18. Stone rubble. Plain-tile roof.
Rectangular plan.
EXTERIOR: single storey and loft. West front with 2 boarded
stable doors, each with opening to right at both floors, that
to the left brick-blocked at loft level. All lower-level
openings with brick segmental arches. East side with 2
triangular ventilation openings and single loft opening. South
gable with ground-floor doorway with oak lintel. North gable
with loft opening with boarded door.
INTERIOR: 2 cells. Chamfered bridging beams and feeding
stalls. 3-bay single-purlin roof with 2 king-post trusses.
