Gates and piers. c1870. Iron gates. Brick and red sandstone
ashlar gatepiers. Pair of driveway gates on piers flanked by
pedestrian gates on piers. Gates: close-set vertical bars with
bottom rail, middle rails and double top rails. End standards
with urn finials and scrollwork. Enriched vertical panels at
stiles and in centre of driveway gates. Piers: rubbed brick
with ovolo corners and bands of inset courses. Gabled and
cross-gabled cap of stone pediments set on dentil moulded
cornice and plain frieze. Capped with ball finial set on
tapering pedestal.
