Public house and 2 houses, now 3 houses. Mid C18 with C20
alterations and additions. Coursed mill stone grit, narrower
to No.52, with tooled ashlar dressings, stone slate roofs and
3 stone stacks with watertabling.
EXTERIOR: 2 storey with basement to No.52. No.52 has single
window front with single 2-light flush mullion window to each
floor, originally 4-light, with wooden casements. To right C20
lean-to porch with C20 door under square headed lintel.
Basement has 3-light mullioned window, centre blocked.
Left return has 2 parallel gable ends with blocked window and
doorway at ground level. Basement has 2 central entrances, one
with banded surround and planked door and to left a 16-pane
window in narrow surround.
No.54 has single window front with top opening cross casement
and C20 door in squared surround to left. Above 3-light
mullion window to eaves level.
No.56 has single window front with C20 door in flush ashlar
surround and top opening cross casement to right. Above
2-light mullion window to eaves level, both with C20 diamond
leaded casements.
Right return has single light window with timber lintel and
above 2-light mullion window.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
No.52 was originally known as The Seven Stars Public House.
