Public house. Mid C19. Stucco with moulded parapet cornice.
Double-depth plan.
3 storeys; regular 4-window range. 1 original 4-pane hornless
sash to 1st floor 3rd from left, otherwise later horned
copies. 1st-floor has sill band and string linked to cornices
of moulded hoods on consoled pilasters flanking panelled and
keyed round arches with moulded imposts. 2nd-floor windows
have keyed segmental arches, moulded architraves and sill
brackets. Ground floor has full-width moulded entablature over
6-bay arcade of keyed round arches springing from leaf carved
capitals and imposts. Windows have nook-shaft jambs and 2-pane
fanlights; doorway with panelled doors in taller arch right of
centre.
INTERIOR: has many original features including moulded and
carved plaster ceiling cornices to ground-floor rooms.
One of a good group in the historic centre of Plymouth.
