Pair of semi-detached villas. c1840-60. Stucco over brick with
slate roof, brick end and party-wall stacks, and iron
balconies and window boxes.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basements, 8 first-floor windows (4:4).
Stucco detailing includes horizontal rustication; first-floor
band; windows to first floor have cambered-arched, tooled
architraves and sills on feet; cornice, and modillion eaves.
1/1 horned sashes throughout, outer ground-floor sashes are
tripartite, first-floor sashes are cambered-arched. Off-centre
right and left entrances, flights of steps to recessed,
panelled doors with overlights.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: ground-floor windows to centre have
continuous balconies with embellished rods and lattice frieze;
outer ground-floor windows have window boxes.
A complete stucco facade with good iron detail. Forms a good
group with No.16 (qv).
