House, now offices, and attached railings. c1820-30 with later
additions and alterations. Stucco over brick; parapeted Welsh
slate roof; stacks not visible. Double depth plan with central
entrance hall facing Bath Street.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 3 first-floor windows, with 2-storey and
basement, 2 first-floor window range to left. First- and
second-floor bands, crowning cornice and parapet. Windows are
blind, except above entrance, a 6/6 sash to first floor and
3/3 sash to second floor; all in plain reveals and with sills.
Entrance: Tuscan porch with columns and entablature, within a
panelled door set in semicircular architrave. 2-storey block
to left of 2-window range has 6/6 first-floor sashes above 1/1
sashes; basement has renewed 8/8 sashes. Return to Cambray
Place: 3 storeys, 4-symmetrical-window range. Bands and
cornice continue from Bath Street facade. First floor has 6/6
sashes; second floor has 3/3 sashes; ground floor has later
1/1 horned sashes; basement has 6/6 sashes.
INTERIOR: retains shutters, embellished cornices, tooled
architraves with fleurons to corners; open-well staircase has
stick balusters and balustrade with 'Cheltenham foot'.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings to porch, basement stairs and to
area have bulbous squared heads and urn finials.
Part of a terrace which includes Nos 28 and 29 Cambray Place
(qv).
