Lodge. c1864 by WH Knight of Cheltenham. Rough-faced snecked
rubble and fish-scale roof; tall central ridge and rear stacks
with cornices. Irregular gabled elevations in Tudor Gothic
style.
EXTERIOR: one-and-a-half storeys. Two south gables have
pointed windows with pairs of mullion and transomed lights
topped by carved panels. West gable has 2-storey angled bay
with 4-centre-arched lights, mullions and transoms. Windows
under hoodmoulds. Lean-to porch in angle to north-west,
chamfered, arched doorway and within a pointed plank door. One
bay extension to south-east with barge-boarded gable.
Decorative ridge tiles.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORICAL NOTE: the competition for the cemetery was won by
Knight in 1862.
