GV II

Terrace of 6 houses, now including rear of Echo offices and
attached railings. c1820-50. Brick with stucco facade and
slate roofs with brick party-wall stacks; iron railings and
window guards.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with basements, 18 first-floor windows, 3
per house. Stucco detailing includes ground-floor rustication;
first-floor band; frieze, architrave and cornice with blocking
course. Mainly 6/6 sashes where original throughout in plain
or channelled reveals and with sills. Entrances at left:
flights of steps to 4-panel doors with overlights with glazing
bars.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings to sides of steps and across
fronts have spearhead bars and dog-bars; similar gates to
basements. Stick balusters to sides of basement steps.
First-floor window guards with Carron Company
heart-and-anthemion motif.
