House (Nos 88 and 88A) and public house (Nos 92-96), now 4
houses. Early C19. Stuccoed. Nos 88 and 88A has Welsh slate
mansard roof with brick stack to rear pitch at centre. Nos
92-96 roof concealed, rendered stack on right.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, Nos 88 and 88A 1 wide bay. Nos 92-96 4
bays. Nos 88 and 88A has vermiculated rusticated quoin strips.
To left 6 panelled door with overlight set under rusticated
flat arch with vermiculated keystones. On right C20 24-pane
sash, rusticated architrave. Further right 3 stone steps
approach recessed 6-panelled door with fluted head and thin
radial glazed fanlight, flanking pilasters, console brackets
supporting broken entablature and pedimented hood with swagged
urn decoration to tympanum, vermiculated strip on left side.
First floor tripartite bow window with centre 24-pane sash and
flanking 18-pane sashes, fluted pilasters divide lights,
frieze and cornice. Second floor has 2 sashes each set under
flat arch, vermiculated and rusticated flush quoins. Enriched
patterned frieze and block parapet. Flat roof dormer. Nos
92-96 has on right C20 door with fanlight set under round
architrave arch, further right 4-pane sash set under flat arch
with bracketed cornice. On far left is the former pub front
with C20 casements and sash set between original articulating
pilasters, fascia and cornice with console bracket to right
pilaster, front continues on left return to Butcher Street.
First floor has four 4-pane sashes and second floor four
9-pane unequal sashes each with moulded architrave. Band
course and coped parapet.
