Villa. c1830. Ashlar over brick (painted to side ranges) with
concealed roof; brick stack to right.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basement; pedimented 3-window range.
Ionic pilasters through ground and first floors, entablature
and pediment; horizontal rustication drawn into voussoirs over
ground-floor windows with first-floor bands above. Central
entrance in architrave with Tuscan pilasters, architrave,
frieze and cornice, within a 4-panel door with side-lights and
overlight with lattice glazing bars and margin-lights. 1/1
replacement sashes throughout, those to first floor have
tooled architraves.
INTERIOR: dogleg staircase has alternate stick and embellished
balusters with wreathed handrail. Plasterwork remains to hall.
HISTORICAL NOTE: probably shown on Merrett's 1834 Map.
A fine pedimented temple front.
