Pair of semi-detached villas now flats and attached railings
with pier at left. Numbered right to left, described left to
right. c1820-1850. Stucco over brick with concealed roof and
renewed brick party-wall stack, with iron railings and
balconies and ashlar pier.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attics and basement, 1:4:1
first-floor windows, the end entrance ranges are set back, and
with further service ranges set well back at ends. Stucco
detailing includes tall pilaster strips and frieze around end
windows of main range; main range has continuous frieze and
low parapet, raised over end windows. End ranges have pilaster
strips to either side of first-floor windows. 6/6 sashes
throughout, taller to ground floor, all in plain reveals and
with sills. Attics set back over end ranges have casements;
casements to basement. Flights of steps to end entrances,
5-panel doors (the upper panels raised and fielded, lower
panels with fluted surrounds) with sidelights and fanlights,
that to left has batwing and circle motif, that to right has
radial glazing.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: reset arrowhead forecourt railings with
anthemion finials to stanchions. Ground floor individual
balconies have lattice motif to left and scrolled lozenge to
right. Area arrowhead railings and gate abut service range at
right with acorn finials, ramped up to pier, square on plan
with chamfered plinth, the shaft with chamfered angles, frieze
and peaked cap.
