Nonconformist Chapel. c1836 for the Primitive Methodists
originally. Stucco over brick with ashlar dressings and
concealed roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with 3 windows. Plain gable fronted facade
with bands over ground and first floors, coped verge. 2 tiers
of windows, separated by a plat band, arched on first floor
with Y-tracery; flat arches with voussoirs to ground floor,
round arches to first floor; all in plain reveals and with
sills. Arched central doorway with C20 doors and blind
fanlight. 5-bay return with mainly 6/6 sashes on first floor,
otherwise blind openings.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
An example of nonconformist architecture outside the town
centre.
