GV II

2 semi-detached houses. c1830-1850 with later additions and
alterations. Stucco over brick with hipped slate roof and
stucco central, end and ridge stacks.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basement and with attics, 2:4:2:1
first-floor windows, including 3-storey tower and single-bay
addition at right. Later additions obscure the facade, but
there was originally a central 4-window breakforward between
2-window ranges of which that to right has 3-storey, single
bay 'tower' stepped forwards. Stucco detailing includes, to
ground floor centre range, horizontal rustication and cornice
on console brackets above windows, first-floor moulded string;
first floor windows have tooled architraves. 6/6 sashes where
original, except to ground floor of breakforward are 2/2
horizontal-pane sashes; all in plain reveals and with sills.
Entrances, stepped back slightly from ends of breakforward:
flights of steps to panelled doors with overlights with
glazing bars. Wide eaves on brackets.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
