Pair of semi-detached villas, now 3 dwellings. c1826-30.
Stucco over brick with hipped slate roof with 2 tall
party-wall stucco stacks with cornice on brackets, and iron
balcony. Double depth plan with side halls and full-height
service ranges to rear.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 6 first-floor windows (3:3). Stucco
detailing includes horizontal rustication to ground floor with
flat arches over windows; first-floor band; first-floor
windows have tooled elliptically-arched architraves and sills
on feet; frieze with wide eaves on brackets and incised panels
between. First-floor windows have elliptically-arched
2-horizontal-pane sashes; ground floor has 1/1 sashes; all in
plain reveals. End entrances, flights of steps to set back
4-panel doors with sidelights and overlights. Rear retains 6/6
sashes and 2/2 sashes with margin-lights; returns have 2/2
horizontal-pane staircase sashes.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings to sides of steps have
embellished rods and wreathed handrail; continuous
ground-floor balconies have alternate rods and embellished
rods.
Nos 3-19 (odd) and 4-18 (even) (qqv) form a group.
