Villa and attached railings. c1830-50 with later additions and
alterations. Ashlar over brick with hipped slate roof, stucco
ridge and side stacks; iron railings.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys on basement, 3 first-floor windows with
2-storey entrance bay set back to left. Ashlar detailing
includes: plinth; tooled, eared architraves to windows, those
to ground floor with pediments; moulded first-floor sill band,
with raised sills on feet; crowning frieze. Wide eaves. 6/6
sashes where original, taller to ground floor; all in plain
reveals and with sills. Basement has 8/8 sashes. Entrance at
left: flight of 4 roll-edged steps to 4-panel door with
overlight within surround with Doric pilasters and frieze;
blind to upper stage with decorative gargoyle.
INTERIOR: noted as retaining original joinery and plasterwork
including panelled shutters to windows.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: railings to left side of steps have
double anthemion and scroll motif with alternate embellished
rods.
