Villa. c1830-40. Stucco over brick with hipped slate roof and
end stucco stacks; wrought-iron verandah and balcony.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 3 first-floor windows with 2-storey,
single bay set back to left. Stucco detailing includes
horizontal rustication to ground floor and voussoirs over
windows; tooled first-floor band; first-floor outer windows
surrounded by incised Greek key motif, central window in
elliptically-arched recess. 1/1 sashes, except casement to
centre, all in plain reveals. 2 roll-edged steps to central
entrance in solid pilastered porch with architrave, 4-panel
door with overlight. Wide eaves.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: balcony above porch has scrolled lozenge
motif. Verandah has openwork frieze.
HISTORICAL NOTE: houses on Tivoli Road (then known as Tivoli)
are shown as laid out on Merrett's Map of 1834, with several
built to the north end.
