Terrace of 3 houses, now shops with flats over. c1820 with
later alterations including late C19 shop front to centre;
otherwise c1970s ground-floor shop fronts of no special
architectural interest. Ashlar over brick with concealed
double-pitch roof and brick and stucco party-wall stacks,
wrought-iron balcony. Double depth plan with side stairways
and full-height service ranges to rear.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 6 first-floor windows (2 per house).
Ashlar detailing includes channelled second-floor band, frieze
and cornice over second floor, crowning frieze, cornice and
blocking course with copings. First and second floors have 6/6
sashes where original, taller to first floor; second floor has
3/3 sashes where original, all in plain reveals and with
sills. Ground floor, shop front to centre has plate-glass
windows with slender modillions, glass curved on plan into
off-centre doorway with part-glazed door with oval panel.
Plate glass shop front to left, tiled to right. Rear retains
6/6 and 3/3 sashes, those to No.45 have flat brick arches.
INTERIOR: retain original joinery including panelled shutters
to windows, otherwise not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: to right house a continuous balcony to
first floor has lattice motif with panels of scroll ornament.
