Gatehouse and signals cabin. 1884. Red brick, blue brick
dressings. Slate roof with blue angle raised ridges and
terracotta pinnacle to pyramid roof. Octagonal plan.
EXTERIOR: single storey with plinth and moulded eaves cornice.
Sliding sash window with glazing bars to each face, except
entrance to north which has half-glazed door up 2 steps.
INTERIOR: contains a 12-lever Saxby and Farmer frame.
This gatehouse and cabin controls the Swing Bridge (qv)
constructed to connect the docks single track railway.
