Wine & Coal Duty Post. 1862. Cast iron.
Square-plan. Base has raised inscription "Henry Grissell, 1862, Regents Canal Iron Works, London". Post has square shaft with chamfered corners inscribed ".4 &25 VICT CAP 42", moulded band and moulded top with pyramidal cap.
These posts were erected after the 1851 and 1861 Acts and they defined the boundaries of London for this purpose.
