House, now offices. c1730s with later additions and
alterations. Reddish-brown brick in Flemish bond with stone
sills and stucco lintel; plain tile roof, end brick stacks
(that to left shared with No.5 (qv)) with oversailing course
and pots; cast-iron grille.
PLAN: double depth with hall and stairwell between. 3 storeys
on half-basement, plus attic, one first-floor window.
Chamfered plinth with grille. First floor has wide canted bay
on wine-glass stem with 6/1 horned sashes and with pilasters
between, surmounted by balustrade. Second floor has two 9/9
sashes in near-flush frames with sills and under elliptical
arches. Moulded cornice. Ground floor: entrance to left a
6-raised-and-fielded-panel door with Gothic glazing bars to
fanlight; hood on brackets. At right a tripartite window with
6/6 between 2/2 sashes, lintel chanelled into voussoirs. Box
dormer to attic has casement windows. Rear retains 8/8 and
8/12 sashes.
INTERIOR: to front ground-floor room an Aesthetic Movement
fireplace with tiles. Hallway has panelled dado and open newel
staircase to full height with rod on bobbin balusters. Kitchen
at rear has tall, wide fireplace with eystone.; 2-panel door
with HL hings. Barrel-vaulted basement with coal shute. First
floor has 2-raised-and-fielded-panel door with HL hinge and
another tiled Victorian fireplace to front room; rear room has
bolection-moulded fireplace with Delft tiles with flaoral
motif. 2 further 2-panel doors. Second floor: similar doors
with HL hinges; Victorian fireplace to front. Attic has
6-panel door.

Nos 2-16 (consecutive) Edgar Street (qqv) form a significant
group, together with Nos 28-34 (even) Sidbury; No.12 College
Precincts; Tower House, No.1 Severn Street; and Edgar Tower,
College Green (qqv). Edgar Street (in which all the buildings
are listed) is a fine example of a Georgian street and it
forms part of the setting for the Cathedral (qv).
