Gate lodge. Probably c1834-5, by Charles Day and Henry Rowe.
Ashlar over brick with concealed roof. Single storey, single
bay with 4-bay return. Plinth surmounted by Doric pilasters to
ends and between bays, with crowning entablature and blocking
course. 6/6 sashes in plain reveals and with sills and tooled
architraves. Entrance to left return: 4-panel door in plain
reveals and with tooled architrave and cornice.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Forms an integral part of the setting of Shire Hall (qv).
