War Memorial built circa 1919.

DESCRIPTON:
A granite Celtic cross atop an elongated shaft, which stands on a tapered rectangular plinth elevated on a stone base. The names of those lost during the First World War appear on the south face of the plinth below the inscription: 'IN PROUD AND GRATEUL MEMORY OF / THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE / THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR / 1914-1918 ', and below this the inscription 'THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE'; the east face carries the names of the fallen of the Second World War. The war memorial stands in a prominent position within the village of Fremington, adjacent to the Church of St Peter and Fremington Manor (both listed Grade II*).

HISTORY:
Erected to commemorate the men of the parish who fell in the First World War (1914-1918). It was later used to record the names of those who fell in the Second World War (1939-1945).
