Detached pair of houses, c.1830-40. Architect/builder unknown. Painted limestone ashlar walls, slate hipped roof.
EXTERIOR: Two storeys. No 7, to left, adjoins a garage (not included in the listing). Six-panel door set beneath a console hood to right; to its left, a broad display window, sashed, with 14/14 panes, set within another console hood, with a long balconette. First floor with 6/6-pane sashes, each with a cast iron balconette. Continuous eaves band. Shallow hipped roof with moulded chimneystacks to side and centre. No 8 ('The Doll's House') is similar but of three bays, with a central door flanked by 6/6 pane sashes.
INTERIORS: Not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: No 7 retains low spearhead railings above a stone plinth: those to No 8 survive only along the northern return.
The broad window to No.7 may have been a display window for a shop; the pair date from the second phase of the development of the Bathwick Estate.
