GV II

Detached house, former Lodge to The Brow (qv). Early to mid C19.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, slate roofs.
PLAN: Picturesque range in single storey plus attics, incorporating some simple Gothic detail. Windows are varied, but generally with margin panes.
EXTERIOR: Entrance front has two gabled dormers with paired casements. Ground floor, left, paired sashes in projection with swept-down roof, single sash, gabled porch with plank door to flat segmental head, paired sashes under hood-mould, and, under broad gable, small lancet with margin panes. End unit gabled at each end, with coping, and trefoil saddle stones. Two lancets on west return, and blocked former arched doorway. Rear includes further lancet, and gabled central wing.
INTERIOR: Not inspected. The building seems to have been reorientated, as the former listing refers to a principal south entrance.
