Includes: No.2 MONMOUTH STREET. Terrace house, now shop. c1770 (OS says pre-1776).
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, slate roof.
PLAN: Town house running through to rear access Monmouth Street.
EXTERIOR: Four storeys, three windows, all twelve-pane sash in splayed surrounds, above mid C19 (altered) pilaster shopfront with glazed door and deep transom light, and further panelled door with blocked-in transom light to left. Two platbands, cornice on ovolo mould bed, blocking course and parapet, carried through to adjacent No.16 (qv), but two properties with differing floor levels and to straight joints at front. Rear (No.2 Monmouth Street), in rubble has plain and twelve-pane sashes, and external eaves stack. Single storey shop unit brought forward to street not of special interest.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
