House and shop. Probably mid C19 but may be earlier.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar stone, concrete double Roman tile roof.
PLAN: Two cell single depth central entrance plan.
EXTERIOR: Two storeys, two-bays. Ground floor has projecting late C19 timber shop front to left, plain stallriser, projecting cornice with volute capitals. Plain doorway with part glazed modern door, four-pane C19 sash to right. Above modern three-pane sash to left and casement with top opening light to right, all 3 windows are seemingly in unaltered openings. Stone verge and shared stack to right end of roof. Rear elevation not seen.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
HISTORY: Avenue Place was one of the earliest developments in Combe Down, dating from the mid-C18 (it is shown on a drawing of 1759).
