Lodge. Mid C19, C20 alterations.
MATERIALS: Limestone rubble with ashlar dressings, slate roof.
PLAN: T-plan, set with gable to the road.
EXTERIOR: One and a half storeys. Windows are small casements with horizontal bars, with recessed ovolo moulded stone surrounds and mullions. The main front, facing north, into the garden, has a gabled wing brought forward to the right, with two light plus stopped drip to each level; the eaves range, left, has a coped face gable with two light, above a two light with drip, and a two light to the left, replacing the original doorway. The gable to the road has a two light with drip at the upper level. The inner end has a face dormer with four lights under a flat bowed head, with a large late C20 casement below, under a lintel to former carriage entrance; to the left is a part-glazed door with flat hood. Small ridge stack, right. The rear is plain, with a small eaves stack, and the gable to the left has a lower hipped block attached. All main gables are coped, with square open finials, matching those on the main house (qv).
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
HISTORY: The building might represent an earlier structure which received a picturesque remodelling at the time of the rebuilding of Combe Lodge in 1855.
