GV II

Detached house, former stable wing. Early C19 with C20 alterations.
MATERIALS: Rubble, some limestone ashlar, slate roof.
EXTERIOR: Long shallow two-storey range, with wider section at inner end. Two storeys, varied fenestration, mainly casements. Immediately inside gateway entrance range of near continuous three-light casements above two wide elliptical arches to paired plank stable doors, with later lean-to porch to left, one eaves stack. Beyond stepped forward unit with flat roof, over strip of casements, range with two two-light above two-light and recessed glazed door. End gable, towards garden, in ashlar, with stone bellcote to coped gable with small obelisk finials. Gable to road has similar finials, with larger one to ridge. Long outer face has casements in series, and added balcony.
INTERIOR Inspected in part, all late C20 conversion work. This was the stable block to the adjoining Cloisters and Southside (qv).
