Parish boundary post and Turnpike Trust marker. Dated 1827.
MATERIALS: Cast iron. Post with flat back to wall. Faces marked `WALCOT' and `SWAINSWICK' to denote parishes. Face between these marked `BATH TURNPIKE TRUST 1827'. The base of the post has been hidden by tarmac. One of series of Bath Turnpike Trust parish boundary markers erected in 1827 by the Bath Trust surveyor 1826-1836 John Loudon McAdam.
