House, now flats. c1770-1775 with C19 and C20 alterations. Possibly developed by Mark Spencer.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar to front, rubble to basement, rubble to left side, rubble to rear, double pile parapeted mansard roof built up to full third floor to rear, artificial slate to front, Welsh Slate to rear with coped party wall to left with two stacks with some early clay pots, ashlar to rear, rebuilt in reconstituted stone to front. Staircase to front.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys, attic and basement, two-window range. First floor has horned sashes, two/two to left, plate glass to right, in splayed reveals with stone sills. Second floor has two similar plate glass sashes. Ground floor has to left similar two/two sash, to right C19 five-panel door with shaped fielded panels and glazed panel with one Pennant step in plain reveal in C19 porch with two-pane window in round headed plain reveal with stone sill to left side, plinth, cornice and blocking course continued to all three sides. Basement has C20 aluminium sash in plain reveal with stone sill, C20 door in glazed screen under crossover, level approach via gate from pavement to left so no area steps. Double dormer has two plate glass horned sashes in moulded architrave and with moulded cornice, probably C19. Band course over ground floor, bracketed eaves cornice and coped parapet. Lead hopperhead and downpipe attached to right shared with No.2 Spencer's Belle Vue (qv). Rear elevation partially visible has plate glass sashes to second floor and third floor.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: Attached wrought iron railings and gate with shaped and arrow heads on limestone bases and Pennant edge to raised pavement.
