Flanking entrance to New Bond Street Place. Shops with accommodation over. c1825 with C20 additions.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, with roofs not visible from street.
PLAN: Single depth plan with splayed corners.
EXTERIOR: Splayed corner house with Greek Revival elements. Three storeys. Three window front to No.11, four to No.12; all windows are six/six sashes in architrave surrounds, with cornices on consoles to first floor; top floor of No.12 has plain late C19 plate glass sashes; frieze, crowning cornice and blocking course, stone stacks with pots. No.11 has good 1919 shopfront with fascia by the City Architect A.J. Taylor: this called for the reduction in size of the corner's first floor window, which was replaced with a near-square opening with Roman-inspired glazing. No.12 has a late C20 `Victorian' style shopfront.
INTERIORS: Not inspected, shops modernised.
HISTORY: The Council agreed to the formation of New Bond Street Place on 26th July 1824. It continued the line of the Saxon Union Passage through and beyond the City wall.
