GV II

Pair of houses within an irregular terrace set high above Camden Road. 1815.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, roof unseen, stacks to the party wall and left.
PLAN: Double depth plans.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys including attic storey, over lower ground floor. Each front comprises a full height segmental bay with eight/eight-pane tripartite sash window (not tripartite to lower ground floor), and a narrow bay to right with six-panel doors, reached via a flight of stone steps with wrought iron railings to left. Coped parapet and band, second floor zigzag dentil cornice, plain frieze and ground floor platband follow contours of bays. No.6 has blind windows to sides of second floor tripartite window and small two/two-pane sash to right, door has tall glazed panels to top and moulded roundels to central panels under plain segmental arch and fanlight, two/two-pane sash window to lower ground floor. No.7 similar but bay more semicircular, parapet has railing balustrade (probably later), four/four-pane sash window to right of second floor, set back half-glazed door has semicircular arch with keystone and fanlight with radial glazing bars, similar railed balconette to ground floor of bay and obvious toothing to party wall.
INTERIORS: Not inspected.
HISTORY: The date is derived from the deeds. Part of a picturesquely conceived row, designed to exploit the fine south-easterly prospect to the full through the extensive fenestration, the segmental bays and the raised entrances.
