House, later shop, on narrow site at corner of Sion Hill (north entrance front) and Cavendish Road (east). Late C18 with C19 alterations.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar to street facades, rubblestone to rest, roof unseen.
PLAN: Three-unit.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys and basement, symmetrical three-window range to north facade, and symmetrical two-window range to west facade. Both facades have tall coped parapet with simple cornice close to top and larger dentil cornice with lintel frieze (slightly returned to right) above second floor, sill bands and painted reveals to upper floor windows. Sill bands continue over low three storey porch to centre of north front that has coped parapet, three/three pane sash window to second floor, six/nine pane sash to first floor and pedimented Tuscan doorcase with engaged columns and later C19 six-panel door glazed to top. Ground floor window to left shuttered, upper floor windows to right are blind with painted glazing bars. To ground floor right is mid C19 projecting small-paned shop window, canted on brackets with segmental arches to upper panes. Cornice and fascia over blocked overlight and half-glazed door to left of shop extends over canted bay. East front has full height segmental bow with two six/six-pane sash windows to upper floors and plate glass sashes to ground floor.
