Pair of houses in row, with shops. c1820 with C20 alterations.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, slate roofs, but double Roman tile to rear slopes.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys and attic, each with a narrow one window front; twelve-pane sash and plain dormer in steep mansard roof, above plain sashes to sill bands, except to second floor of No.25, which is large sixteen-pane. Ground floor has two late C19/ early C20 pilaster shopfronts with modern windows, retaining consoles and original fascia to No.25, with, to left, good panelled door and plain transom light, leading to through way. Thin cavetto cornice, blocking course and parapet, large ashlar stack off-centre, right.
INTERIORS: Not inspected.
HISTORY: According to the 'Bath Guide' for 1824, this site was one of the houses adjoining a Brewery on the north side of the street which had recently been 'swept away and new and handsome houses erected'. The properties are of unequal widths, which indicates their being a rebuilding on much earlier plots.
