House. c1815 (Manvers Estate lease), altered late C19.
MATERIALS: Limestone ashlar, roof not visible.
PLAN: Single depth house fronting Pierrepont Street and Henry Street.
EXTERIOR: Three storeys, full attic and basement. single bay to Pierrepont Street, single bay to cambered corner, two-bays to Henry Street. All windows are late C19 plate glass plain sashes except corner one on first floor French casement opening to iron balcony. Wrought iron area railings, basement windows are original six/six sashes. First floor flanking windows have individual balconies. Arch headed doorway with six panel door and radiating fanlight. Platband at first floor level. Cornice. Small attic windows. Parapet, roof not visible, stacks with pots. End elevation mostly rubble, ground floor projection with late C19 oriel window.
INTERIOR: Not inspected.
HISTORY: This house lies on part of the Manvers Estate, sold in 1874, and the alterations would date from after that. Henry Street formed the north-eastern part of the projected Kingston Square, shown on the 1810 Donne plan of Bath: this was one of the first two houses in the otherwise unbuilt Kingston Square.
