Opened 1849 by the North British Railway, probably engineer John Miller. Sited to NW of paper mill. 5-span round-arched cream sandstone viaduct with channelled dressings and bull-faced cream sandstone ashlar to piers battered below impost. Ashlar coped parapet with stugged ashlar between impost and parapet. Bullnosed string course below parapet.
The paper mill was served by sidings branching from the Duns branch. The viaduct was on the branch line, which was later extended, by the Berwickshire Railway, to meet the Waverley Route of the North British Railway near newstead.
